Founded by Norrøna adventurer and guide Jan Fasting, this magical hotel in Telemark serves as the ultimate basecamp for mountain biking and trail running. Looking like a Norwegian safari lodge, Canvas features traditional Kyrgyz-style yurts and custom tent houses scattered across a landscape of slickrock deep into the Telemark county. This terrain is home to over 120 kilometers of the most incredible singletrack mountain biking and trail running in the world. Canvas strips away the unnecessary to elevate the simple joys: sleep under the stars in a premium Hästens bed with a glass dome roof, wake to hand-poured coffee delivered to your door, and dine on meals crafted from local ingredients over a wood-fired oven. After a long day on the trails, soothe your muscles with the power of water – from a cold lake plunge to a steaming wilderness sauna or a hot tub soak on the dock. This off-grid oasis is free of light and sound pollution – offering unparalleled peace and tranquility.

Our story began in the late 1970s when the innovative Ulf Prytz established Norway’s first company dedicated to adventure travel.
