The Island of Andørja

Northern Europe's most mountainous island

20 peaks above 1,000 meters. One remarkable island.

Everything here feels vertical. Mountains rise almost directly from the sea, reaching into the Arctic sky. In summer, they invite you to hike, run, scramble, and explore. In winter and spring, they become an extraordinary ski touring landscape, with possibilities in almost every direction – from gentle terrain to serious mountain adventures. The wider region is known for its remarkable ski-to-sea possibilities.

This might be a small island. But it is a great playground.

Covered by peaks. Surrounded by sea.

Andørja lies in Ibestad municipality in Troms, far north in Norway. Around 135 square kilometers of land rise dramatically from the surrounding fjords and sea, creating what is widely described as Northern Europe’s most mountainous island.
